Kindergarten enrolment

Enrolments for Kindergarten are taken the year before the child starts school. Please ensure that you complete the Enrolment form. Kindergarten children must be five years old by the 31st July in order to be enrolled. You will need to provide the following documentation prior to your child starting school:

  •  Birth certificate or passport
  •  Complete Immunisation certificate
  •  Proof of residential address, (eg original copies of council rates notice, lease agreement, electricity account, statutory declaration etc)

Students arriving from overseas will need to bring their passports and visas when enrolling at school and special conditions may exist for some visa holders

Priority is given to children who live within the school boundary and then to siblings of out of area students. Out of area applications for enrolment are only offered if a vacancy exists.

Kindergarten the first day

Kindergarten children commence school the day after the rest of the students in Years 1 – 6. Please check the online calendar for the correct date but this information will be communicated to parents during the orientation process.

Your child will need:

  •  A school bag
  •  A snack for ‘little lunch’ (recess)
  •  A sandwich, drink and fruit for ‘big lunch’
  •  An old shirt to protect your child’s uniform for art
  •  A library bag
  •  A Paddington Public School Hat

Bags and hats are available for purchase through the schools online store.

Kindergarten orientation or transition to school

We have an extensive Kindergarten orientation or transition process here at school. This allows the new students to become familiar with the school well before their first day of school.

Kindergarten information evening

This is an information evening for parents and is held in Term 2 in the school hall at 7pm.

Please check the school calendar for the chosen date.

Kindergarten orientation play days

Kindergarten orientation and play days are for our new Kindergarten students and parents and are held in Term 4. They will either be a morning session or an afternoon session. The purpose of these play days is for the students to meet each other and familiarise themselves with the school environment. Parents will be given information about the school and how to best transition their child smoothly and successfully. These are only available to the families who have filled in enrolment forms and are enrolling their children in our school the following year. Please check our online calendar for the dates they will be held.

Kindergarten big day at school

‘Big Day at School’ is for our newly enroling students to spend a whole day at school. They will meet their Year 5 or 6 ‘Buddy’ and spend the day learning about the school routine. Parents are asked to drop off their children, have a morning tea in our Community room and leave their loved ones till pick up time in the afternoon. Please check our online calendar for the dates they will be held.
